2nd International Conference on Innovation and Sustainability (ICIS2026) in Higher Education

Submit Abstract

Background

In an era of global interconnectedness, rapid technological change, and complex societal challenges, internationalisation has become a strategic priority for higher education worldwide. ICIS2026 provides a global platform for scholars, practitioners, policy-makers, and institutional leaders to exchange insights, share innovative practices, and explore collaborative solutions.

Key themes include inclusive internationalisation, student and staff mobility, digitalisation, geopolitics of international education, global citizenship education, sustainable partnerships, internationalisation-at-home, transnational education, international research collaboration, and the role of internationalisation in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In light of increasing geopolitical uncertainties, growing disparities in access to global opportunities, and the imperative for more equitable and sustainable approaches, it is essential to reimagine internationalisation beyond traditional mobility models. This conference will create a space for critical reflection and forward-thinking strategies, drawing upon diverse local, regional and global perspectives and interdisciplinary insights. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, it seeks to promote more equitable and sustainable approaches that will prepare higher education to address global challenges and contribute meaningfully to a more just and interconnected future.
